Need moisture? Simple

To the girls who are blessed with hydrated, normal (as in pretty perfect) skin - this post is not for you. On the other hand, if you need that extra oompfhh of moisture then the Simple Kind To Skin Moisture Boost Hydro Cream (what a name!!) might be just what you need.

To be totally honest, if someone told me ''you're going to wake up 5 minutes earlier this morning to add more steps into your skincare routine..", i'd just laugh. Longer time in bed to snooze or a few minutes longer giving your face an extra somthing? Ermm.. it's an easy one *throughs alarm clock out the window*. If you get my point, i'm saying that this is not a necessary part in my routine, but when the weekend comes round, just before moisturising, i'd pop this Simple Cream on and bobs your uncle (please say you've heard of this saying before, and i'm not being stupid..).

The Simple Kind To Skin Moisture Boost Hydro Cream amplifies the moisture in your skin, making it hold extra water and be overall more hydrated. Also, I feel that whenever I use this cream my base makeup looks times more radiant and I think my foundation generally applies a lot nicer. The finish I recieve when I have used this really does appear differently, and I think my skin thanks me for it.

If you need a kick up a notch in the moisture department, then why not try this? Link on Boots.com - here.

NAVY NAILS

Last week I decided to go dark on my nails, using the Jack Wills Nail Varnish in (creatively called) "Navy". The shade is beautiful, although, not a true deep blue - it's almost on the verge of green once applied.
A generous 2 coats (3 for some nails) were needed, and it was  disappointing that it only lastly around 3 days before chipping was visible.
Nevertheless, I enjoyed using it and appreciated the change on my nails. Who says bright shades must be painted on our nails in Summer? Not me.

First Impressions: Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation

Recently, I decided it was time to branch out into newer foundations - I was looking for a product that would hopefully be let my skin breathe in the Summer months. After reading tonnes about the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation, I knew it really must be time to give it a go and see what all the fuss is about. I've trialed this on two or three occasions, and so now I'd like to share my first impressions with you.

Firstly, you'll be glad to know that Bourjois have included a very handy pump, therefore it means that the right amount of foundation will be dispensed and I (supposedly) won't waste much product. The shade range is, hmmm.. limited. I personally think that the lightest shade (Ivory) is only just about acceptable for my pale skin once I have a slight tan, otherwise, in Winter it'd be an obvious "oompa loompa". Not a good look.

It blends fairly nicely into my face buffed in with a brush like the Expert Face Brush by Real Techniques . I'd say the coverage is light/medium with a lovely radiant finish (don't worry it's not packed with "glitter") due to the fruit extracts. The wear time varies, in my opinion, in the warmer temperatures I'd say 5 hours max, in cooler weather I'd like to expect around 6/7 hours (also dependent on skin type).

Overall, I'd recommend the Bourjois foundation, particularly for Holidays where lighter coverage is a must-have. Oh and I have to mention how much I lovvve the scent, think raspberries/cranberries. Find the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation here, via boots.com - link.

New Product // Max Factor CC Stick (Under Eye)

When a new product promises to fix (cover..) a problem area of mine, of course my reaction is positive. So, the second I discovered that Max Factor had created a new, stick-shaped balm that corrects purple under eye hues, I was definitely intrigued

"New Colour Corrector sticks from Max Factor use the way colours balance and neutralise each other to correct and perfect any tonal imperfections in your skin such as dark under eye circles, blemishes or redness."

The consistency is smooth and workable, making it easy to blend seamlessly into your skin. My first impression was "wow, that sure is light (in colour)..", but saying that, once blended evenly out, it disappears and sinks into my face almost completely. Nevertheless, I wouldn't suggest wearing this alone, as the shade difference may stand out. Covered with concealer and/or foundation works well and the textures work well together. No caking, no smudging, nothing. I also find that this makes the eye area appear much more brighter and awake. Overall, a thumbs up from me!

The Max Factor Colour Corrector Stick is avaliable in 5 colours via www.boots.com - here.

Summer Nail Shades

Summer just screams "BRIGHT COLOURS", doesn't it? Can you get any more summery that lime greens, strawberry reds and orange? I think not. When bright sunny days come round the corner I always reach for the shades that just wouldn't be accepted in Winter..

Topshop nail varnishes vary so much in their shade range, they have a great range of unusual colours, like this lime green shade (below in "clique"). Link - here. At £5 each or sometimes on offer two for £9.

Effortless Necklaces

A simple, easy to style necklace is easily one of the most underrated accessories. I don't know why, because they can add so much more to an outfit without having to be complicated or clashing. It's nice to have a statement piece of jewelry, although, sometimes less obvious accessories work better to complete your look.

Topshop make some nice ones,  a couple of my favourites, bought recently, are below. Link - here.
